15th Honoring of March 10th Martyrs | RTYC NY&NJ

“As you are aware, RTYC NYNJ has launched a monthly protest initiative held on the 10th of every month, in commemoration of the historic March 10, 1959 Tibetan Uprising in Lhasa, when thousands of innocent Tibetan monks, nuns, and laypeople were brutally killed by Chinese forces.

To honor their sacrifice and continue the struggle for Tibet’s freedom, we will be organizing our next 15th monthly protest.”

Sand Mandala Creation | Tashi Kyi Monastery

Join us November 3-9 as we welcome back members of the Tashi Kyil Monastery to Tibet House US for the creation of a sand mandala!

Open to the public for in person and livestream viewing from 11am-4pm ET.

This ancient Tibetan Buddhist tradition involves the creation of an intricate mandalic design made of colored sand. It is used as a tool for meditation and visualization. The creation of a sand mandala begins with a ceremony consecrating the site and blessing the sand. After the completion of the mandala, it is then ritually dismantled, symbolizing the impermanence of all things in life.

Donations go towards supporting the monastery and furthering the education of the young monks who reside at the Monastery.
